OBAMA & McCAIN: MODERN DAY GODFATHERS

Americans are back to the familiar four year refrain: "I’m voting for McCain. Obama is worse." "I’m voting for Obama. McCain is worse." Right back to the same hold your nose and vote. Right back to the same hypocrites like Sean Hannity, who has railed against Juan McCain for his tireless efforts to give illegal aliens a free pass. Hannity now pimps for McCain full time. Dr. James Dobson, head of Focus on the Family, who said, "Speaking as a private individual, I would not vote for John McCain under any circumstances," now embraces the McCain ticket because Sarah Palin has come to the rescue sporting her Real Women Hunt Moose canvas bag.

Honesty from the Left on Hispanic Immigration

Posted in Other News and Op-Ed, Our Neighborhoods, Research on October 11th, 2008 by Brad

Heather Mac Donald

John McCain and Barack Obama have largely avoided discussing immigration during the presidential campaign. But when it comes to the legal side of the issue, they both seem to support the status quo: an official policy centered around low-skilled, predominately Hispanic immigrants. A forthcoming book shows just how misguided that policy is, especially in light of the nation’s current economic woes. The Latino Education Crisis: The Consequences of Failed Social Policies, by Patricia Gandara and Frances Contreras, offers an unflinching portrait of Hispanics’ educational problems and reaches a scary conclusion about those problems’ costs. The book’s analysis is all the more surprising given that its authors are liberals committed to bilingual education, affirmative action, and the usual slate of left-wing social programs. Yet Gandara and Contreras, education professors at UCLA and the University of Washington, respectively, are more honest than many conservative open-borders advocates in acknowledging the bad news about Hispanic assimilation.

A Wasted Vote

Chuck Baldwin

When asked why they will not vote for a third party candidate, many people
will respond by saying something like, "He cannot win." Or, "I don’t want to
waste my vote." It is true: America has not elected a third party candidate
since 1860. Does that automatically mean, however, that every vote cast for
one of the two major party candidates is not a wasted vote? I don’t think
so.

545 PEOPLE

I received this in an email.

545 People By Charlie Reese

Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them. Have you ever wondered why, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, we have deficits? Have you ever wondered why, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, we have inflation and high taxes?

You and I don’t propose a federal budget. The president does. You and I don’t have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does.

I pledge allegiance to Goldman Sachs, and to the conspiracy for which it stands, one racket under Paulson, Communist and indivisible, with eviction and poverty for all.

The battle of the bailout is over. We lost. Despite the unprecedented opposition, despite everything we did, I doubt that many of my readers and listeners thought we could win. Now we need to analyze what happened, what it means and, most important, where it could take us. We do have some hints.

Federals agents this morning raided and detained about 300 people they believe to be illegal aliens working at House of Raeford’s Columbia Farms poultry plant in Greenville — an operation that one immigration official today called the biggest workplace raid ever in the Carolinas.

Investigators expected to spend the rest of Tuesday at the plant poring over employment documents and conducting interviews to gather evidence in what U.S. Attorney Walt Wilkins said will be an ongoing investigation into House of Raeford’s employment practices.

Bailout - another form of amnesty

For many Americans, the sense of deja vu must have been palpable these past few weeks. There was President Bush and a cadre of bipartisan congressional leaders presenting the nation with a sweeping ultimatum - without debate - and demanding acquiescence as the only possible solution to a crisis they have watched ferment for years.

Sounds like the summer of 2007 all over again. Replace "bailout for Wall Street" with "amnesty for illegal immigrants," and here we go again.

New Study Shows Non-Citizens are Registering to Vote

Posted in Criminal Aliens, Other News and Op-Ed, Research on October 8th, 2008 by Brad

FOX 35

WASHINGTON, D.C.- An immigration researcher from The Center of Immigration Studies presented a study at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. today saying that there are non-citizens that are registered to vote.

The study showed in California there are an estimated 500,000-700,000 non-citizens that are registered to vote from 2000-2006. That represents about three percent of the voter population in the state.

The majority of those registered to vote were in Los Angeles County congressional districts. Monterey County Registrar of Voters, Linda Tullet, says that those who do sign the registration form claiming they fulfill the requirements, don’t even know they have done so.

This is a follow-up of today’s Photo of the Day. To show just how ridiculous the Department of Homeland Security can be, we submit this graphic.

Note that although some new fencing has been installed along the border just West of El Paso, most of the 2.42 miles is old chain-link fence that is short and easily climbed. Not only that, the segment of the border that the chain link fence is supposed to protect is closest to a populated area. If DHS was serious about protecting the border they would have replace this useless fence, but we know they are not serious.

FEAR BASED VOTING - A NATION IN TURMOIL

CJ Graham
NewsWithViews.com

My email is filled with letters from truly fearful Americans. Never before, have I experienced this level of fear from citizens. It is incredibly disconcerting.

Fears expressed are from every possible point of view, all seemingly unrelated. Fears of illegal immigration, shadow government, terrorism, war, failing economy, loss of sovereignty and liberty indicate a distrustfulness of the intentions of our government and I think is well founded.

Recent events have reinforced these fears. The cliché, ‘lesser of two evils,’ has taken on a meaning more crucial than ever. Is anyone voting for a candidate, in whom they truly believe?

Democrats say Obama key in bailout vote switch

Posted in Crooks in Government, Other News and Op-Ed, Traitors on October 3rd, 2008 by Brad

AFP

Several Democratic members of the House of Representatives Friday said calls from Barack Obama helped convince them to switch their votes and back a 700 billion dollar Wall Street bailout.

Maryland Democratic representatives Donna Edwards and Elijah Cummings said they had both received calls from the party’s White House nominee, after voting against the original package in the House on Monday.

"It meant a lot to me that somebody who at least has a 50-50 shot at being the next President of the United States would take time," Cummings said.
